, a startup that automates IT infrastructure, has raised $6 million in a Series A round, the company announced Thursday.

Based in Redwood City and Warsaw, Poland, Spacelift provides a platform for team collaboration to manage a company鈥檚 cloud infrastructure simultaneously. The company鈥檚 鈥渋nfrastructure-as-a-code鈥� platform lets teams build and test applications without risking their operations going offline, according to a statement from the company.聽

The company serves organizations of all sizes, but its technology is particularly well-suited for large enterprises, according to Spacelift co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Pawel Hytry.

鈥淲hen you think about their infrastructure, there are a lot of moving parts, new servers being set up, firewalls 鈥� when you have so much complexity, it just increases the probability that something will fail or something will go wrong,鈥� Hytry said.

Spacelift was born after co-founder and CEO Marcin Wyszynski worked at businesses including food delivery company and created similar products for infrastructure.聽

Blossom Capital was interested in investing in the company because infrastructure is 鈥渙ne of the big risks in the modern world,鈥� partner said in an interview with 附近上门 News.聽 Many systems are designed to handle code changes, but when changing infrastructure, there鈥檚 a higher chance of something breaking.

鈥淲hen your infrastructure fails, your entire product fails, and your customers notice,鈥� Ghory said.

The funding will be used to scale the company鈥檚 engineering team and build out its commercial team, which will be based in the United States, Spacelift鈥檚 target market. The company, which is fully remote, has seven people on its team now, with two more joining next month, and plans to recruit 15 people across engineering, marketing and sales.

The company raised a $1.6 million pre-seed round last year.聽
